Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Byron Donalds is the product of a single-parent household. Throughout his life, his mother made every sacrifice possible to give him the best opportunity to live the American Dream. That philosophy his mother taught him, striving to leave future generations better than the current, is what leads him in his work, his home life, and as a Member of Congress.
Byron attended Florida State University and graduated with a degree in finance and marketing. Byron has worked in the finance, insurance and banking industries in Southwest Florida

The saxophone recording artist Eirinn Abu is fortunate to be a multi-platinum selling recording artist, often referred to as the instrumental counterpart of Andrea Bocelli. Dolly Parton has graced three of his eight albums with her vocals. Just recently, His new album ANTHEM won the 2025 World Entertainment Award. Eirinn is a local favorite (for obvious reasons) and can often be found performing in Central Florida.
Jeff Childers is an attorney and author based in Gainesville, Florida, known for his work against unconstitutional mandates related to bodily and medical autonomy, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. He is also the author of the website "Coffee & Covid," where he is widely read, sought after as a commentator, and shares insights and legal perspectives on a variety of conservative issues.
While serving in the Florida House of Representatives, Byron made his mark as a champion for school choice and protecting parental rights in education. Donalds led the effort to enact Hope Scholarships that empowered parents with school choice and passed a first-in-the-nation bill to that allowed parents and community members to review instructional materials in schools.
Donalds chaired the prominent House Insurance and Banking Subcommittee, working to strengthen the state’s economy and make Florida more affordable. Governor Rick Scott also appointed Byron to the Board of Trustees for Florida South Western State College.
Since 2020, Donalds has served the people of Florida’s 19th Congressional District. Congressman Donalds quickly distinguished himself as a conservative warrior. As a rising star in the Republican Party, where he has stood in the trenches against the rise of woke culture in schools, corporate America, the financial services industry, and our military. Byron is also a staunch advocate for the Second Amendment, School Choice, Fiscal Sanity, Secure Borders, Law and Order, and a Limited Federal Government. He has consistently received the highest ratings possible from conservative organizations for his outstanding voting record. Byron Donalds lives in Naples, Florida, with his wife, Erika, and their three sons, Damon, Darin, and Mason.
